Getting into the world of online gaming can be intimidating. When you make your grand entrance you’re feeling slightly clueless, compared to everyone else, and your newb questions only seem to irritate more experienced players.
Taking everything and trying to fit in can feel impossible. Finding people to play with can be challenging. When people get tired of you asking and decide to let you play, then the next hurdle is staying with the pace and not embarrassing yourself. Oh – are you a lefty? And have you been blowing off getting that left-handed mouse? You’re gonna need one – stat, but no worries about that. We want you to have the most fun possible with your online gaming; and right now we’re going to talk about a few tricks you can use.
That left handed mouse will appreciate getting a rest from time to time. It is not only okay to take a break from gaming, sometimes it is required. It is imperative to take good care of both the body and mind, this can be a complicated task if you are not taking intermittent breaks from your games to exercise and eat right. Those who find themselves sleep deprived and forgetting to eat will also notice they are more frustrated with their poor gaming skills. That’s right, those MMORPG’s are indeed addictive. It is important, however that you do yourself (and those around you) a favor by taking a break from it sometimes. We all know the benefits of returning to a game refreshed and ready to tackle the next challenge rather than allowing ourselves to burn out.
Be a team player. If you look closely enough, you will recognize a lot of parallels between MMORPG’s and regular team sports. It’s important for you to have the willingness to accept advice and even directions from more experienced players.
On the other hand, it will be necessary for you to do the same, one day, when you have to. The goal is to have fun and win, of course, so that may entail you to make personal sacrifices such as playing in a way that is against the grain of how you would normally play, etc. The unwillingness to do things like that will not put you in good stead with others. You’re there to have fun, sure, but you need to maintain the needs of the team, first.
Beyond all else, you should not forget to have fun with it. These games are supposed to provide you with good entertainment. They are not meant to be a substitute for real life. If you find that you are taking the game too seriously or that you are getting too wrapped up in it, step away from the left handed mouses and keyboard and do something else for a while. Play a different game or leave your computer entirely for a few hours. If you are not having fun anymore those you play with probably aren’t either.
Online gaming is meant to be a fun past time. Little did you know, but that is how they are designed to be – fun. Naturally, there are some things you may want to consider if you want to get the most out of it. For lefties… make your keyboard shortcuts, and then be sure you have a left-handed mouse. Keep in mind about humility and working with a team. When there’s no friction or fighting, it’s all just a greater experience.
